Grace "Becky" Arlene Brettell

Grace Arlene (Mogle) Brettell, a resident of Colorado Springs since May, 1960, passed away December 26, 2016. She was born January 14, 1920 in Warren, Ohio.Grace retired after twenty-three years from Current as a Human Resource specialist.She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry C. and Blanche (Acheson) Mogle; sister, Maxine J. Woofter; brothers, Clyde E. Mogle and Harry C. Mogle, Jr; and her husband, Lloyd C. Brettell.Grace, or Becky, as she was known by many, was my beloved mother. She was a grandmother and friend who has left us to join her Creator, who loves her, as do we. Grace cultivated a gracious spirit that grew lovelier with age. She lived a life o f purpose, joy, and self-sacrifice. She was a true caregiver and nurturer. She faced down periods of tumult and uncertainty with determination and incredible work ethic. She was filled with boundless energy and generosity.Grace was, from an early age, genuinely interested in the world around her and the people she came to know. She adored her sister-in-law, Judy, as well as her nieces and nephews. Family times meant the world to her.Her earnestness and sincerity left a mark on just about everyone she talked with. People were refreshed by her beautiful smile and genuine care. She was an ardent gardener, traveler, reader and needlework artist.Grace made the world a better place. I am so very grateful to have been her daughter and to have been loved by her.
