Robert "Bob" Claver Summers

Robert “Bob” Claver Summers passed away in Melbourne, Florida on Saturday, May 11, 2024. He was 80 years old.
Born on February 15, 1944 in Altoona, PA to Kenneth and Eleanor Summers, Bob enlisted in the Air Force when he was 19 years old. He served for 21 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. He was a Vietnam veteran. Some of his awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, AF Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Air Force Overseas Service Medal.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brother Kenneth Summers, and daughter Kristin Summers.
He is survived by Kathy Vogl, his beloved partner of 25 years, his son Joseph, granddaughter Ava, and brother John ‘JD’ (Linda) Summers as well as extended family members who loved him.
Bob will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the love and care he showed to his family and friends.
Services will be on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. A Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Melbourne, FL at 10:30 am, followed by interment at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.
