Steven Richard Spellman

Steve Spellman, age 67, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, died peacefully at home on October 16, 2016. Steven Richard Spellman was born on February 27, 1949 in Poughkeepsie, New York to the late Richard and Doris (Taylor) Spellman. He was a graduate of Hamburg High School, Erie Community College and Buffalo State University in New York. He was also drafted into the Army and served his country in Vietnam.He married Heidi Babcock on June 16, 1973 in Hamburg, New York. He was a family man who loved to run. He ran many races in his life, including the Pikes Peak Marathon. He also enjoyed biking and swimming, especially in recent years.He is survived by his loving wife, Heidi Spellman of Colorado Springs; his daughters, Bri'anna (Steve) Kadera of Colorado Springs, and Mallory (Mike) Lockhart of Colorado Springs; and his two grandchildren. He has two sisters, Linda Woodard of Ocala, Florida and Nancy (Dan) Moellering of Chandler, Arizona.Most recently, he worked as an Application Developer with Oracle. In New York, he worked for National Fuel Gas Company, as well as the town and village of Hamburg and for Peerless Insurance in New Hampshire.
