Elmer Leon Vasquez

Elmer Vasquez, age 72, of Colorado Springs, a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather died on Saturday, August 15, 2015. He was born January 5, 1943, in Fallbrook, California to Joseph and Evelyn (Westmoreland) Vasquez. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1960, and was honorably discharged in 1965. He married Carol Boling in 1962, and then later married Glenna Millhollin on January 27, 1973. They were married for 42 years. He worked for Western Airlines and then Delta Airlines as a mechanic for 38 years. He retired in 2005. He was a member of the Teamsters, and the Lion's Club. He enjoyed water sports, snow skiing, fishing, hunting, photography, and cooking. He was a big baseball and NASCAR fan.He is survived by his wife, Glenna, of Colorado Springs, CO, Daughter and husband Lori and Charles Beard of Monument, CO, Daughter and husband Kelly and Glen Pugh of Escondido, CA, Son and wife Jon and Tina Millhollin of Lakewood, CO, Son and wife Darrell and Lora Vasquez of Menifee, CA, Son and wife James Craig and Andrea Vasquez of Baton Rouge, LA, Daughter and husband Kristy and Jeff Wilson of Scottdale, AZ, a brother Rocky Brewer of Washougal, WA, nineteen grandchildren, and twelve great grand-children.His brother, Robert, proceeded him in death.Memorial service in his honor will be held on 11:00AM, Saturday, August 29, 2015 at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 E. Platte Ave., Colorado Springs, Colorado, 80909. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, at alz.org.
