Edward "Ned" Walter Marrs III
August 5th, 1946 - August 4th, 2015
Ned Marrs, age 68, a longtime and well-known resident of Colorado Springs, passed away on August 4, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. He had retired from the United States Army and was a real estate broker.Edward Walter Marrs III was born on August 5, 1946 in San Antonio, Texas to the late Edward and Louise (Gorman Keaough) Marrs. He attended Academy Junior and High Schools and was a graduate of Kemper Military Academy. He received his BA in Political Science from Park College. He later received his Masters in education from University of Southern California. Ned was a Vietnam veteran (the Americal Division in 1968), and had earned two silver stars, one bronze star and two purple hearts for his courageous service. He served in the Army for twenty years and retired with the rank of Major. He was assigned at Fort Carson and concluded his career at NORAD. Ned was a "founding father" of the philosophy of the Exclusive Buyer Agency in Colorado Springs real estate for thirty years, and had been an avid sports enthusiast for athletics of all kinds for all of his life.He married Chun "Wind" Cha Choe and they were married on December 12, 2012. Wind survives and lives in Peyton.He is also survived by his children: Keely (and Jeff) Fulkerson of Greeley; and Edward W. "Jed" (and Paula) Marrs IV of Denver. Also surviving are his sisters: Rosemary (and David) Karter of Wilmington, North Carolina; Emmy (and Charles) Lange of Dubuque, Iowa and Jeanne Whitton of San Antonio, Texas.He is also survived by his former wife: Lynette Marrs of Brighton, Colorado; his best friend: Dan Conboy and his wonderful grandchildren: Evelyn Dae and Edward W.
