Kyle Simonton
January 17th, 1945 - February 15th, 2015
Kyle Simonton of Colorado Springs, Colorado died Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care at Penrose Hospital. He was born January 17, 1945 in Hearne, Texas to Ohmakyle & Hope (Harless) Simonton. He was the second of five children. He was a graduate of Hearne High School and after graduation he went on to join the Navy where he proudly served his country from 1963 to 1969 to include service in Vietnam. After discharge from the Navy he attended Mountain View College in Dallas, TX where he received his associate degree in electronic technology. He married his first wife, Kay Choate, who survives him, on November 25, 1966. He married his second wife Kassie Hoskinson, who was at his side, on March 28, 1988 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Kyle worked in printing as a machinist for thirty-five years and he loved hunting, fishing, gold panning, cooking (bar-b-cueing) and being a grandfather. He was preceded in death by his father, Ohmakyle; mother, Hope; and brother, Robert "Flu". Kyle is survived by his wife, Kassie Simonton, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his sons, Terry Simonton (Val) of Wiesbaden, Germany and Darby Simonton (Treva) of Lubbock, Texas; his step-daughters, Robin Keller (Kenny) of Colorado Springs, Colordo and Rhonda Frisk of Westminster, Colorado; brother, James Simonton (Tammy) of Manchester, Tennessee; sisters, Janis Goodman (Neal) of La Marque, Texas and Jeanie Martines (Randall) of Denver, Colorado; eleven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral Service and Celebration of his Life, 11:00AM, Thursday, February 19, 2015, The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado with his step-daughter, Robin Keller giving the eulogy. Graveside Service to follow at Peyton Cemetery in Peyton, Colorado.
