Jones Lamar Chambers

Jones L. Chambers, age 73, went home to be with the Lord on July 12, 2014 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, cousin and friend. He had retired after working as an Electrician with the General Electric Corporation for many years.Jones Lamar Chambers was born on December 24, 1940 in Meridian, Mississippi to the late Munroe and Ruthy Jewell (Wilson) Chambers. He attended schools in Birmingham, Alabama and Electrician School in Boston, Massachusetts. He married Doris N. McGhee on November 8, 1960 in Birmingham.He enjoyed living life to its fullest –seeing the world through his own eyes, riding motorcycles and visits with his family.He will be best remembered for his ability to speak his mind. He was very forthright in expressing himself when it was the time for him to speak. He possessed great wisdom in attaining his family's help with raising his children. He is survived by his wife, Doris N. Chambers; and his children, Jones "Lamas" Chambers, Jr., Vilfredo Chambers, Thelonious Chambers, Demetrius Chambers, Melody Chambers, Kecia Chambers and Jeff Chambers. He is also survived by his "sisters" who are actually his cousins, Rev. Omega Price, Evelyn McBride, and Ruth Jewel Wilson; his aunt, Ruth Gordon; and his uncle, Rush Gordon.He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
