Bernice J. Cowart

Bernice J. Cowart, 86, went to be with the Lord on October 11, 2013 at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado.On December 1, 1926, Bernice was born to Charles and Cassie Becker in Perry, Texas. She married Richard E. Cowart on June 28, 1947 and together they had three children: Richard E. Cowart, Jr. of Dubuque, Iowa; Shirley A. Callaway of Grand Junction, Colorado; and Mark C. Cowart of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Bernice and Richard were married for 52 years. Richard preceded her in death. She and Richard resided in Plainview, Texas from 1959 to 1967 where she was actively involved at St. Paul's Lutheran Church.From 1967 to present, she resided in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She served in different capacities at Church for All Nations.Her love for the Lord was seen by all and loved by many.Bernice is survived by her children; Richard (Robin) Cowart, Shirley Callaway, and Mark (Linda) Cowart, grandchildren; Heather Gross, Kristen Wood, David Cowart, Stephen Cowart, Wesley Cowart, Alexander Link, and Olivia Cowart, great grandchildren; Jake and Andrew Wood, and Vivian Gross.A Funeral Service will be held to honor Bernice J. Cowart, and celebrate her life on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 10:30AM at Church for All Nations, 6540 Templeton Gap Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
