Timothy Lee Shank

Timothy "Tim" Lee Shank, 59, of Colorado Springs, Co, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at his home surrounded by family.Tim was born July 13, 1953 in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania to Donald and Eileen (Smith) Shank. His childhood and adolescent years were spent in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, and Elgin, Illinois. Tim spent the rest of his life in Palmer Lake, Monument, and Colorado Springs. He was a stone mason and owned T & J Construction Co. which later was known as Blue Dolphin Construction. Tim built a number of homes in Palmer Lake and Monument.Tim found great joy in numerous outdoor activities and spent many of his weekends skiing, golfing, boating and motorcycling in the mountains.Those who knew Tim admired him for the strength and courage which he showed in his nearly thirty year battle with Hepatitis C. In November 2012 he underwent a liver transplant at the University of Colorado Hospital.Tim is survived by his father, Donald Shank, of St. Charles, IL a daughter, Diana (David) Martinez, of Parker, CO, two grandchildren, Graciela and Anabelle Martinez, his sister, Donna (John) Lengle, of St. Charles, IL, and a brother, Samuel Shank, of Arlington, TX.He was preceded in death by his mother, Eileen Shank, and his fiancée, Autumn Homer.A memorial service will be held at a later date in Elgin, IL.Funeral Home:The Springs Funeral Services3115 East Platte AvenueColorado Springs, , COUS 80909 Events Service Thursday, May 16, 2013 12:00AM The Springs Funeral Services 3115 East Platte Avenue Colorado Springs, CO 80909 Phone: 719-207-8855
