Jean C. Heintz

Jean was born August 27, 1923 to Flossie and Charles Burt in St. Louis, Missouri. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in St. Louis for 79 years.It was at Zion Methodist Church she met her husband John. They married August of 1944 and were blessed with a loving life together for 66 years.Jean was a graduate of Harris Teachers College in St. Louis, Missouri. She retired after a 26 year career teaching Kindergarten in the Melville School District where she became Director of the Developmental Kindergarten Program.She dedicated her life to her church, marriage, and raising her two children, Gary and Martha. Three of her greatest joys were her granddaughters: Michelle, Sarah, and Emily! Jean enjoyed ballroom and square dancing with her dear John, birds, growing roses, knitting, and sewing. We will remember her most for all the loving kindness she gave so generously to her family. She was a strong and beautiful role model for all.In June 2010, Jean moved to Colorado Springs where she was a resident at Summit Glen Retirement Center and attended Calvary United Methodist Church.Jean is survived by her son, Gary Heintz and wife Sandy of Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughter Martha Daggett and husband Russell of Forrest City, Iowa; granddaughters Michelle Martin and husband Lucas of Lake City, Colorado, Sarah Nuehring of San Francisco, California, and Emily Daggett of Forrest City, Iowa.Memorial Service 4:00PM Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 4210 Austin Bluffs Parkway.
