William Boyd Burkett

William B. Burkett passed away September 6, 2012. He was born September 6, 1923 in Pueblo, Colorado to Alice and Dixon Burkett.He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Burkett, his parents, and his sisters. He is survived by his sons, Bill Burkett (Mexico), Dick Burkett (Alaska), and his daughters, Janet Walters (Highlands Ranch, Co), Amy Duarte (Colorado Springs, Co), seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild. He served in WWII and Korea in the Marine Corps. He was married to Viola for over 40 years. He was a grocery manager and clerk for most of his life until his retirement. He loved fishing, singing, drinking coffee and eating vanilla ice cream. He loved fishing the Pie Plant River in Taylor Park, singing karaoke in Penrose with his friends, and singing for everyone at Emeritus. We give many thanks to the staff at Emeritus at Broadmoor for their loving care of our father over the last couple of years.
