Karl T. Toney
September 23rd, 1970 - March 1st, 2023
Karl T. Toney gained his wings on March 1, 2023, peacefully. Youngest child of Hattie Mae Toney of Birmingham, Alabama, and only child to James Durr of Meridian, Mississippi. He was a “loving” brother, “greatest” uncle, great-uncle, and friend. Karl, was loved by so many. He was a dedicated and loyal servant to God as he loved his family with all of his heart, he also loved his church family and they loved him as well. Karl lived to serve the lord. I want to leave a few words God put on my heart. Pastor Rose Banks, you have been more than a Pastor, you have been a second mother to my uncle and I write this with so much gratitude, grace, and most of all, love. The love you’ve shown my uncle is something I will forever carry. You are absolutely a wonderful woman. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Colorado Springs Fellowship Church, for embracing and loving my uncle. ~Carla~ Isaiah 40:31 “they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” This promises a supernaturally renewed strength—a strength that would compare to mounting up as an eagle or running without fatigue." Karl loved being an uncle more than anything. Anyone who knew him knew how much he loved his nieces. They were like his children. Karl is survived by sister, Paula J. Toney; his brothers, Suader Fate, and Anthony C. Toney; his eldest niece, Michelle (Charles Tate) J Toney; his second eldest niece, Carla (Alton Nelson) N. Patterson; his youngest niece, Gabrielle (Eric "Big Dude" Gary) Toney; and his great nephew, also his name sake, Karl T. Toney (“Baby K”); and Shanai L. Singleton, Miracle D. Toney, Anthony W. Ingram, Heaven Z. Wilson, Lejend D. Tate, Legacy M. Tate, Chance A. Tate and our youngest blessing BabyTru S. Tate. Karl was proceeded in death by his father, James Durr; his mother, Hattie M Toney; his great-grandmother, Julie M. Harris; his great-niece, Aleigha M. Wilson; and his brother, Eathen C. Toney.
