Douglas Norman Brian, 82, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 26, 2023 in Colorado Springs. He was born in Denver, Colorado on October 22, 1940 to the late Benjamin and Rosa Sloniker Brian. In early childhood, Doug lived with his family in Larkspur, Colorado. One of his favorite memories was climbing to the top of a foothill called “monkeyface” for a better view of the heavy equipment preparing the roadbed during the construction of Interstate 25. Doug went to high school in Lawrence, Kansas, graduating in 1959. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1964, then worked as a building maintenance technician for Eastman Kodak in Windsor, Colorado for twenty-five years. In retirement, we enjoyed traveling together for several years, visiting family and friends. He eventually longed for meaningful work, and thoroughly enjoyed his nine years of building maintenance at First Lutheran Church in Colorado Springs. Doug was passionate about his work at the church and the close friendships formed with his coworkers. He will be remembered by the staff for his detailed show-and-tell sharing at staff meetings of his incredible ability to fix and repair broken things in and around the church. Doug was patient, kind, humble, and compassionate. He loved the Lord with a passion, read His Bible daily, and lived his faith. He enjoyed reading books and magazines about how things were made and how things work, loved taking train trips, riding a different tourist steam train each year on our anniversaries, and visits with family and friends. He leaves behind his wife, Shari, of twenty-seven years; daughters, Susan (Tim) Holligan, and Janelle Pelletiere; sons, Matthew (Stephanie) Price, Christopher (Cindy) Price; ten grandchildren, Anna Barbour, Kael (Gina) Barbour, Leevi Pelletiere, Michaiah Pelletiere, Connor Price, Logan Price, Nathanael Price, Eli (Allison) Price, Ashlynn (DJ) Christianson, Seth Price; and three great grandchildren, Hannah, Solomon, and Samson Barbour. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his younger brother, Benji. Celebration of Life, 1:00PM, Friday, March 31, 2023, First Lutheran Church, 1515 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80907. Reception to follow in the Peel House Mansion.
