Karen Lea (Rathbun) Rivera, 65, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away on June 6, 2023, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born February 28, 1958 to Neva Ilene (Thornton) Rathbun and Ivan Leon Rathbun. She went to High School in both Houston, Texas and Colorado Springs, Colorado, and graduated from Coronado High School in 1978. She worked at Silver Key Senior Services for the last five years and enjoyed helping the elderly in her community. She is preceded in death by her parents, Neva Ilene (Thornton) Rathbun Chittum and Ivan Leon Rathbun. She is survived by her sister, Kelly Ilene Rathbun and her children; Aranda (Lenamond) Russell and spouse, Ben Russell, her son, Tommy R. Nunnelley, and her daughter, Edie I. Gonzalez , all of Colorado Springs. She is survived by her grandchildren, Karissa I. Russell, Amelina N. Russell, Jayden J. Nunnelley, MaryAlice L. Russell and Olivia Gonzalez and her great-granddaughter, Ayla G. Barrett. Memorial contributions may be made to the Colorado Pancreatic Cancer Research Institute.
