Crystal Ilene Curtis

Crystal Ilene Curtis-Fore, 52, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on June 27th, 2023, in her home, with her family by her side. She was born December 8, 1970 to Cheryl Trudgeon Curtis and Cris William Curtis in Perry, Iowa. Her family lived in Woodward until she was 6 years old, then they moved to Denver (Thornton), Colorado. Later, they moved around to several different states and eventually moved back to Colorado, settling in Peyton in 1985. Crystal was the first-born of three children. She attended Peyton High School. She married Michael Whelchel in 1987. They resided in Colorado Springs and together they were blessed with three children, two girls and a boy. She and Michael later divorced. Her youngest daughter gave her three beautiful grandchildren whom she doted on and perhaps spoiled a little too much. She married Tony Fore in 2012 but in recent years they were separated. She had a kind heart and didn’t judge others. She was a Broncos fan and loved her family photos. Crystal was a loyal employee of King Soopers as a grocery stocker for a tenure of twenty-nine years. She recently took a leave of absence after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. She is survived by her daughters, Ashley Shana Chalou, and Alisha Michelle Whelchel; and a son, William “Billy” Lewis Whelchel, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; three grandchildren aged 8-12 years, EmmaLee, Marshall Lee, and Landon J. Thompson of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two brothers, Curt Wayne Curtis, and Cris William Curtis II; her mother, Cheryl Ilene Trudgeon-Curtis, of Peyton, Colorado; her uncles, Gold Curtis and Monroe James (Linda) Curtis, Franklin (Kim) Weatherbee; her aunt, Janet Weatherbee; and her cousins, Chad (Beth) Curtis, and Cory (Brandie) Curtis. She was preceded in death by her father, Cris William Curtis; grandmother, Albertha Eihausen-Weatherbee; and her uncles, Robert Weatherbee, and George Sharon.
