Michael Wade Timmons, 83, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 3, 2022, in Venice, FL. He was born on December 13, 1938, in East St. Louis, IL, to Charles L. and Miriam C. (nee) Wade Timmons. Michael graduated from East St. Louis Senior High School in 1957, and attended Southern Illinois University. He worked for the Katy Railroad in Regional Sales in Texas until 1998. He went on to work as a Golfing Sales Representative specializing in matching the perfect golf clubs to each customer he encountered. He retired and moved to Florida in 2006. He and Laura Jean Stone were married in 2008, relocating to the Venice area. Michael was one of the founding members of Harvest Chapel Church in Venice, FL. He loved to listen to Gospel Music and worship the Lord with songs of praise. Collecting golf/sport caps and golf shirts was his favorite hobby. He will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and his ability to make everyone smile. Michael is predeceased by his parents, Charles L. and Miriam C. Timmons, brothers, James R. Timmons and Charles E. Timmons, and brother-in-law, James S. Menard. He is survived by his wife, Laura Jean Timmons, sisters, Judith Lee Timmons, Pamela Jean Menard, nephew, James Kelly Menard and many friends and family. A graveside service will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota, FL 34241, on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Harvest Chapel Church, 225 Center Rd., Venice, FL 34285.
