Ret. Col. Frank C. Rauch
April 16th, 1938 - December 31st, 2021
Frank Collins Rauch, age 83, died 12/31/2021 at Tidewell Hospice Center after a long battle with cancer. COL (Ret) Frank Rauch is survived by his wife, Joan Gregory Rauch of 48 years, and two children: Nina Rauch Holton, and Lesley Stover, and son in law Sean Stover. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Zoe Holton, Amelie Holton, Trace Stover, and Cole Stover. Frank obtained a Bachelor of Science from the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, NY, as well as Master of Public Administration, Shippensburg University, Shippensburg, PA, and the Army War College, Carlisle, PA. He was 1961 graduate of the US Military Academy at West Point. Frank is a veteran of 2 tours during the Vietnam War. He served a distinguished career in the United States Army from 1961 to 1988, serving at locations across the globe. During this time, Frank served as a LT Colonel, Battalion Commander of the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC. Later in his Army career, Frank served as Colonel, Chief of the Human Resources Division, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff in Heidelberg, Germany. After Army retirement, Frank worked for 13 years at the Workforce Development Center of Anne Arundel County. During this time, Frank volunteered his time as stage manager for Ballet Theater of Annapolis (now Ballet Theater of Maryland). Since early 2003, COL Rauch has been an avid volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, working 3 days a week, on their construction crew. Frank served as a head usher for his church, in addition, he was an active member of the West Point Society-Florida West Coastin Tampa, YMCA, and Coastal Cruisers Bicycle Club. Frank truly loved his family and his friends. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Army never left him. A Memorial Service in Venice, FL and a service at Arlington National Cemetery will be announced.
