William Flanders

William L. Flanders (Bill), 87, passed away peacefully at his home in Venice, FL on December 2, 2021. He was born on April 2, 1934 in Lockport, NY to Howard C. and Lillian M. (Gardei) Flanders. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara, daughter Susan (James) SanFilippo of Rochester, NY, son David (Sonya) Flanders of Richardson, TX; and four grandchildren, Sherree SanFilippo, Jesse SanFilippo, Jacob Flanders, and Lucas Flanders. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Nancy Young. Bill was a loyal husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He graduated from Lockport Senior High School in 1951, and Kettering University (formerly General Motors Institute) in 1958. He worked at Harrison Radiator division of General Motors Corporation as an Industrial Engineer from 1952 - 1991, after which he retired and moved to Venice in 1992. He was a mason and member of the Red Jacket Lodge No. 646 and the American Legion. Bill was an avid sports fan, particularly of the Buffalo Bills. He also enjoyed automobiles, vintage racing at Watkins Glen, and jazz music. Services will be held in Lockport, NY at the convenience of the family at a later date.
