Alfred J. Maldonado Sr. Born on October 30, 1956 in the Bronx, New York to Alfred Santana and Carmen Rivera. He joined the US Army in 1974 and was stationed in Schofield Barracks in Honolulu, Hawaii. There he married and became a father of three beautiful children (Alfred Maldonado Jr., Bianca T. Maldonado, and Dacia Lee Sosene). While Alfred was serving his country, he attended Leeward Community College in Waipahu, Hawaii and he obtained his Associates Degree in Psychology. He later worked in Oahu Correctional Center as a Prison Guard for a few years. He later became a Crisis Counselor for the Salvation Army where he worked with adults facing drug abuse, alcoholism, domestic violence, and crisis. In 1980, Alfred later left that position to become a Stevedore at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard in Honolulu, Hawaii. True to Alfred fashion, he moved the ranks and became supervisor in the fuel department in Pearl Harbor. He serviced Military vessels, planes, and more. Alfred made Hawaii his home. He attended New Hope Oahu church in Honolulu where he was saved and baptized. In January 2015, after 35 years of service, he retired from Pearl Harbor. He then relocated to Rochester, New York. After being in Rochester for a while he met the love of his life Ana. They were inseparable and so in love. So much so they were married twice. They had a small ceremony on February 19, 2016 and then with family and friends May 7, 2016. They enjoyed their newlywed journey exploring, traveling, eating at great restaurants and enjoying life. In March 2021, the two moved to their beautiful home in North Port, Florida. Alfred loved the Lord and used his love and personality to speak the Word to those he'd encounter. More recently he ministered the Word to the seniors at a Nursing Home in North Port, Florida. His very last visit he gave his testimony giving God the glory for what is now his perfect healing! Alfred leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved wife Ana, his mother Carmen, his children Alfred Maldonado Jr. (Brandy), Bianca T. Maldonado, Dacia Lee Sosene (Misilei). Grandchildren; Makoa, Xavier, ShirleyAnn, Faith, and Tavita. Through marriage, Joan Diaz (Yamil) and Gabriel Gonzalez (Angie), and grandchildren Christian (Larissa), Angelica, Gabrielito, Selah, Elijah, Yamileh and Angelys; Great-grandchild Rose. He's survived by his siblings his siblings Dennis Rivera (Hilda), Sandra Laureano (Edward), Nancy Rivera-Torres (Louie), Marisol Rivera, Caroline Rivera. He leaves a host of friends, family members, church friends; we will all miss him beyond words.
