Michael Fiore, age 87, of Englewood, Florida, passed away on May 4, 2021. He was born on November 2, 1933 in Bronx, New York where he grew up and moved to the area in 1973 from Long Island, New York. Michael was the librarian, jazz bass and personal manager for the VC for many years. He was also a member of the Literacy Council, Encore, North Port Chorale, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Venice Musicale and the Venice Symphony and was a volunteer for many years at the Senior Friendship Center in Venice. Michael played Jazz Bass in and around Sarasota for many years. He was a charter member in the jazz musicians weekly lunch bunch get togethers until the pandemic struck. Michael is survived by his domestic partner, Annette Ballou of Englewood; two daughters, Janet Falzone and Marie Falzone. He also leaves behind several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Fiore who passed away in 2002. Burial will be private at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida and a Celebration of Life service for Michael will be held at a later date.
