Gladys Irene Haynie Hudgins died March 30, 2021. She was 99 years old. Irene was born in Powder Springs Georgia on August 25, 1921. Irene lived most of her adult life in Washington DC and the Maryland suburbs including Annapolis and Denton, MD, where she was active in church and community service. For the last 12 years she lived at Brookedale Phillippi Creek, Sarasota FL, where she leaves many dear friends. Irene is survived by her brother Charles Haynie of Sharpsburg GA; son Jeffery Hudgins and wife Marilyn of Dunwoody, GA; daughter Barbara Hudgins Duke and husband James of Osprey, FL; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Her marriage to William (Jack) Hudgins ended in divorce. Funeral services will follow at a later date.
