Linda K. Hansen

Linda K. Hansen (formerly McGuiness) July 13, 1956-March 4, 2021 Linda, age 64, of Venice, FL, passed away on March 4, 2021. Born and raised in Des Moines, IA, Linda moved to Venice, FL in 2013. Linda spent her life taking care of others and was a friend to everyone she met. She became a nurse after graduating from Mercy College of Health Sciences, working at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, IA for nearly 20 years. Most recently, Linda worked as a nurse at Venice Regional Hospital for 8 years. She was always willing to help others and never expected anything in return. Linda was a devoted mama, grandma, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. The second oldest of six sisters, Linda was a strong woman who made the best of whatever life threw her way. Linda played golf for most of her life, often playing tournaments with her sisters and parents growing up and taught others to love the game. Since moving to Florida, Linda's ideal day would start with coffee with her loved ones, followed by the beach or the jetty with her grandkids and family, ending with Bingo with her friends. She adored her grandchildren and was willing to do anything for them, even learn the hottest new dance moves to make them laugh. Linda is survived by her daughters Katie Larson (Nate) and Kelsey Gogerty (Matt); grandchildren Lily and Owen Larson; father John McGuiness; sisters Terri Artis, Sandy Cornwell (Steve), Mary Jo LaPole, Brenda O'Neal, and Debbie McGuiness; and many loved nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by her mother Patricia McGuiness, nephew Bobby Abrams, brother-in-law Steve LaPole and beloved dog Bentley. Visitation and celebration of life will be on Tuesday, March 9th at 11am at Farley Funeral Home and Crematory in Venice. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to charities supporting cancer research.
