Elizabeth Anne Miller
January 23rd, 1940 - December 14th, 2020
Elizabeth A Miller (Liz), age 80, of Venice, Florida passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020, at her residence. She was born January 20, 1940 in Hillsboro, IL., middle daughter of the late Rice W Miller and Cleta L Miller. The Miller Family were prominent citizens of Hillsboro, IL and operated the Nokomis Mine for generations. She was preceded in death by her oldest sister, Mary Bridges, ex-husband, Francis Siroky, son, Ryan Siroky. Liz is survived by her sister, Sue Larson and Charles Larson (of Venice, Florida), daughter, Susan Whalen, three grandchildren, Andrew Whalen, Sarah Siroky, and Shelby Whalen. Liz grew up in the wonderful town of Hillsboro, Illinois. Her childhood days were filled with fun and adventure with her 2 sisters and cousin Judy Rice Hauck. Liz maintained friendships with numerous classmates and neighbors throughout her life. As an adult her summers in Hillsboro were highlights of her life, especially Old Settlers Day. In 1958 her parents retired to Venice, Florida & Liz embarked on higher education at Stephens College and the University of Miami. After school Liz married, raised 2 children in Venice, Fl. During these years she helped manage farms in Hillsboro, IL and was a successful real estate investor. Liz had many friends in Venice during the 60+ years she lived there and would often comment how much she loved them ""when I needed them, they were always there, without question"". She enjoyed traveling, entertaining, and shopping. Special thanks to Alexis, Barbie, Zoe, Karen, Pat, Annie and all the Senior Helpers staff that supported Liz during her years with Dementia. Their love and commitment will never be forgotten. Liz loved her 2 sisters, children, grandchildren, great grandchild-Laylah, sister-in-law, nieces and nephews, all family members, right behind shopping. Memorial Contributions can be made to Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center (SPARCC), 1531 S Tamiami Trail, #702-A, Venice, Florida 34285 and the Moose Lodge, 411 S Main St., Hillsboro, IL 62049. A private memorial service will be held at Venice Memorial Gardens, Venice, Florida, 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 19, 2020. Farley Funeral Home in Venice is handling the arrangements.
