Peter Schreiber
July 7th, 1921 - October 22nd, 2020
Peter Schreiber, a longtime resident of Sarasota, Florida, was called to his heavenly home on October 22, 2020. He was born on July 7, 1921 to Fritz and Katharina Schreiber in Mainz-Weisenau, Germany. He emigrated to the United States in 1959 with his wife and two children. He loved the beach. His favorite pastime was swimming at Siesta Beach from marker to marker. He was known for his infectious smile and outgoing personality. He never knew a stranger. Everyone he met was a welcomed friend. He leaves behind a loving wife of 74 years, his beloved Anna Maria, his two children Christina Gibson, husband Hal, and Wolfgang Schreiber, as well as his three grandchildren, Andrew, Alex and Janie Schreiber. The nephews and nieces who cherish his memory include Norbert Schreiber. Maike Schaum, Martina Pobuda, Dagmar and Christian Maurer, Henry, Johnny and Joey Ziegler and Susie Conis. The family wishes to thank Mary, Ellen and Esther for their loving and caring assistance. Without their help he would not have been able to celebrate his 99th birthday in July. The family is also thankful to the medical staff of Dr. Lalita Bhamidipadi, Dr. Edward Bermudez and Dr. Joseph Bilik for their excellent care. The family requests in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to Tidewell Hospice of Sarasota. Due to the present circumstances with COVID, funeral services will be held at a future date in Jacksonville, Florida.
