Janice L. (Calvin) Jennings, 71, of Venice, Florida, formerly of Millbury and Sutton MA, passed away on April 12, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. Janice was the devoted wife of William D. (David) Jennings. Janice was born on July 28, 1947 in Malden, MA to the late Arthur and Phyllis (Haskell) Calvin. She grew up locally, graduating from Reading High School and meeting her future husband David in her Senior year. Upon graduation, she and David began their life together and the two were wed on March 19, 1966. They began their journey together in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, then continued that journey in Salem, NH, then Grafton, Sutton and Millbury MA. While in Sutton, they created yet another beloved family home in Bartlett, NH. They also began their path to Venice, FL. After their retirement in 2005, they began travelling to Florida annually, making their homes in Millbury, Bartlett and Venice, eventually settling as permanent residents of Venice in 2016. Janice was a devoted, full time wife and mother who simply adored her children and grandchildren. She found great joy in the time she spent with both hers and other's children, and any time spent with her family was a treasured time to her. Everywhere she went, her laughter and smile would light up the room. She spent many of her earlier years enjoying painting, crocheting and doing ceramics. She had many lifelong activities that included camping, campfires, listening to and singing music, taking random day trips in the car to enjoy the ""ride with Daddy"", spending time at the beach, and enjoying so many hours of treasured friendship with the many friends she made throughout her life. Many lifetime memories she treasured and spoke of were made traveling and spending time with Don. and Joan Jennings. She and David loved spending much of their time at Jackson Falls, the North Jetty in Venice and boating on the intracoastal. Janice lived a very full life, including multiple weekly gatherings with many dear friends they made in every walk of their life. Jan was very grateful for her many friends made in Venice, that brought her so much love, laughter and support. All of this combined, enabled her to smile and laugh until the very end. Janice is survived by her husband of 53 years, William D. Jennings, daughter Kimberly Kerr and husband Michael of MA, daughter Lisa Ortiz and husband Eliezer of CT. Grandmother to Alyssa, Stephen, Timothy, Kelly, Megan, Joshua, Jacob, Sarah, Adam Keown and Courtney Pellon. Sister to Laurie Millett of Massachusetts, as well as Steven Calvin and wife Nancy of Massachusetts. She also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews. Janice was predeceased by her father and mother Arthur and Phyllis Calvin, her in-laws William and Margaret Jennings. Her beloved brother in law, Wesley (Lanny) Millett. Per her request, Janice will be cremated and there will be no services. A celebration of life was held in Venice Florida, and one will be held later this year when David makes his annual return home to Massachusetts. The family would like to send special thanks to Dr. Susan Donahue or Worcester, MA and Dr. Noel A. Maun of Venice, FL. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations are considered to be made to the charity of their choice.
