Farley Funeral Homes and Crematory - Venice
Dorothy Gagliano
July 14th, 1929 - June 8th, 2018
Dorothy Gagliano, age 88, of Venice, FL was born in Baltimore on July 14, 1929 to Frank and Marie O'Connor. Dorothy was to be the oldest child of the couple. Her younger brothers and sisters included Jack O'Connor, Pat Cosner who have predeceased her and Ann Marie Patterson. From Frank's previous marriage, Dorothy's older siblings included Bud O'Connor, Marcela Krug and Agnes Meacher all having predeceased her. She married Thomas Connolly III soon after school and together they had three children: Donald Connolly, Betty Endlich and Michael Connolly. Thomas departed this life in 1964 leaving her a widow raising three children alone. Subsequently she married Louis Gagliano and a s a result of that marriage Dianne Marie Gagliano-Mindell was born. Eventually Louis died leaving Dorothy, once again, a single widowed mother. Dorothy spent most of her working life at Baltimore City Hospital as an administrator in the anesthesia department. While working at City Hospital she met Carl Quoss in 1981 who would become her partner for the duration of her life. Upon retiring Carl and Dorothy moved to Venice, Florida where she lived up to the day of her death. Dianne soon followed her mother and moved to Florida. Dianne had two children: Brianna and Morgan. Dorothy loved spending time with her grandchildren. In her younger years she loved to dance to Big Band music and was known to ""cut the rug"" quite often. Dorothy loved her family and was always there for every member of her family. She was often the glue that held the family together during rough patches. Everyone who came in contact with her absolutely loved her. In fact, when she retired from City Hospital they named a conference room after her. Dorothy went peacefully at home with her children Donald, Betty, and Michael by her side. She is survived by her children, Carl Quoss, seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
