Joseph S. Sikorski, formerly of Taunton, MA, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018 following a short illness. He was 85 and the widower of Betty (Corrigan) Sikorski, whom he was married to for 54 years. A resident of Taunton for more than 67 years, he was a communicant of the former Holy Rosary Church in Taunton, MA and Epiphany Cathedral in Venice, FL. He was a Korean War veteran, member of the Polish-American Citizens Club, American Legion, VFW, and Massachusetts Teachers Association. He was born in Taunton, MA the son of Stanis Sikorski and Caroline (Gajdasz) Sikorski. His home was Taunton High School where it was a privilege and honor to be an educator and mentor for 33 years. He enjoyed supporting the students there by attending their sporting events, especially baseball, and facilitating many students to get their G.E.D. Even upon retirement, Joseph worked as a substitute teacher when he relocated to Venice because he was passionate about helping others. John is survived by his son, Joseph J. Sikorski of North Port, FL; daughter, Sharon Lenz of Austin, TX; two sisters, Blanche Ryan and Helen Hogan, both of Taunton, MA; he was a proud grandfather of four grandchildren, Ryan, Peter, Victoria, and Kathryn; and many nieces and nephews.
