Robert Morgan "Bob" Greer
November 23rd, 1935 - April 26th, 2018
With great sadness, the family of Robert Morgan Greer of Englewood, FL, known to many as ""Bob"", announces his passing on April 26, 2018, at the age of 82. Born November 23, 1935 in Stanford, Kentucky, son of the late Blanche (nee Slusher) and Gordon Greer; he grew up in Kentucky and Meservey, Iowa. Bob enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1953 serving as a Paratrooper in the 11th and 82nd Airborne Divisions; he was extremely proud and honored to serve his country. After military service, Bob graduated from Iowa State University with a Degree in Business & Finance in 1961. At U.S. Steel Corporation (USX) for 30 years, he held a number of financial positions there, retiring to become the CFO of National Steel Corporation in in South Bend, Indiana till 1995. Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 39 years, Jean (nee Fitzpatrick) and children, James (Jamie), Daniel (Holly), Lynn (Timothy) Brady, and step-son Carl (Kim) Carozza. Bob will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Steven, Morgan and Austin Greer, Graycen and Hanalei Greer, Jack, Blake and Lauren Brady, Kyle and Nicholas Carozza; great-grandson, Cameron Douglas; siblings Carole Gealow, Dennis (Susan) and William (Shelly); and sister-in-law Judy Greer. He preceded in death by son Steven Robert in 1960; brother Glenn and sister Shirley Hohensee. Services for Bob will be private.
