James E. "Jim" Cammon
March 20th, 1943 - January 25th, 2018
James E. ""Jim"" Cammon, 74, of Venice, FL, died on January 25, 2018. Jim was born to Mary (nee Fairchild) and Frank Cammon in Newark, NJ. He was a resident of Hackettstown, NJ, and moved to Florida in 2005 while maintaining a residence in New Jersey. In 1998, he retired as a Communications Account Executive after 38 years. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. Jim was a baseball enthusiast, collector of baseball memorabilia, golfer, and member of the Venice Corvette Club. Jim grew up in Pompton Lakes, NJ and graduated from Pompton Lakes High School in 1961. He was on the varsity basketball team, baseball team, track team, and bowling league. His love for sports continued throughout his life being a die-hard Mets fan and avid golfer, for which he won a number of Club Championships, both in New Jersey and Florida, often playing the final round against his late son, Michael. Jim was the son of the late Frank Cammon and Mary Fairchild Cammon, and the father of his late son, Michael Cammon. Jim is survived by his wife, Pam Mastrangelo Cammon of 27 years, of Venice, FL; his daughter, Kimberly Thomas; and grandchildren Dean and Alexa, of Hackettstown, NJ. Jim is also survived by many loving family members and very close friends. A Memorial Mass was held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Venice FL, Tuesday, February 6th at 10AM. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, March 10th at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, 28 Livingston Avenue, Roseland, NJ 07068. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Answer Cancer Foundation, 6905 Rosemary Road, Eden Prairie, MN 55346, Tax-ID 81-1588152.
