Paul R. Hertel, Jr., 89, of Venice, FL and Philadelphia, PA, passed away on January 6, 2018. He was born on February 2, 1928 in Rutledge, PA. He was Chairman and owner of an insurance brokerage company in Philadelphia. He also served on the boards of Windsor Life Insurance Company, Excelsior Insurance Company, Harmac Medical Products, and Philadelphia Insurance Company. He was a member of Germantown Cricket Club, The Union League of Philadelphia, and Plantation Golf and Country Club. Paul was a naval officer who served near the end of the Korean War. Survivors include his wife. Eleanor ""Vicky""; sons Mark and Paul III (Ninna); and two grandsons, Alex and Zachary. Paul was a dedicated father, husband, friend, and grandfather. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, March 14th from 4:30-6:30PM at Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, FL. Interment will be private in Philadelphia at a later date. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Plantation Community Foundation, 500 Rockley Boulevard, Venice, FL 34293.
