Donald E. Spitz, age 97, of Venice, FL passed away on July 24, 2017. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on October 24, 1919, and came to Venice from West Long Branch, NJ in 1979. He retired in 1979 after 30 years in sales. Donald was a decorated combat veteran having served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He was a member of American Legion Post #159 in Venice. Donald was a loving father to his surviving children, Brian P. Spitz of Venice, Lisa A. King & husband Sanford R. of Venice, and Donna L. Watts of Tampa, FL; 4 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian and brother, Charles. A graveside service will be held at Venice Memorial Gardens on Saturday, August 12th at 10 AM. Celebration of life to follow In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
