Ronald James Arpin, 76, of Nokomis, Florida, passed away on March 3, 2017, from a heart attack. Ron's family will receive friends at Farley Funeral Home, 265 S. Nokomis Avenue in Venice, Florida, on March 9, between 2 and 5 pm. Farley Funeral Home is also handling Ron's cremation. Ron is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruth Ellen; they were married on June 18, 1960. He is also survived by his brother Reginald and two sons, Ronald Jr. and his wife Jennifer, and Ricky and his wife Joyce. He is survived by one grandchild, Elizabeth. Ron is preceded in death by his father Nelson, mother Anita, sisters Betty and Shirley, and brother Robert. Ron was born in New York, New York on May 23, 1940. He grew up in Vermont and Connecticut, and attended Rocky Hill High School. Ron worked most of his life in the grocery industry, working in grocery stores in all areas, and he also managed several stores in Las Vegas, Nevada. He also worked for many years as a sales representative for Kraft Foods in Las Vegas, Nevada. He enjoyed the outdoors, coaching his son's baseball teams, and traveling. He and his wife also enjoyed golf and beach time in his final home of Nokomis, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the American Heart Association.
