Ronald F. Neal, of Venice Florida peacefully passed away at his home on February 13, 2017, at the age of 85. Beloved husband of 43 years to Christine A. (nee Carlo) Neal; loving father of Cynthia L. Raymond (Robert Hart), Kimberly V. McCombs (Matthew) and the late Linda S. Neal; cherished Papa to four grandchildren: Adam, Lauren, Amanda and Chad and ten great-grandchildren. After a wonderful 47 year career as an elementary school principal and adjunct professor, Ron retired with the love of his life, Christine, to the blue waters, sandy beaches and lush golf courses in the sunny state of Florida where they happily lived for the remainder of his life. Ron was an avid Yankee enthusiast and voracious reader. He will be remembered for his spirit, sense of humor, and positive attitude. Ron never flinched in the face of adversity; he reminded all who would listen about the merits of keeping yourself in prime physical condition (PPC). One of his favorite quotes from Vince Lombardi, Jr. summed it up ""You've got to keep yourself in prime physical condition, because fatigue makes cowards of us all."" Ron will always be PPC in the eyes of those who knew and loved him. May God always bless and look over him! The family will receive friends on Friday, February 24, 2017, forty-five minutes prior to a 10:00 AM Memorial Service at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church at 1115 Center Road in Venice. Flowers are respectfully declined in lieu of memorial contributions to Tidewell Hospice (tidewellhospice.org), the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the VGCC Provident Fund or a charity of your choice.
