With great sorrow, the family of Petro Dobransky notifies friends and family of his passing on October 15, 2016. He was a devoted husband and cherished father. Petro was born in Ukraine on October 1, 1922 and came to the US in 1949. He worked as a building contractor in the Binghamton, NY area and was very active in the Ukrainian Church and community. He came to North Port, Florida in 1987. Surviving family members include his daughter, Alexandra Kostiuk of Silver Spring, MD; son Roman Dobransky of Mary Hill, NC; grandchildren Larissa, Roxalana, and Mark; and extended family in the US and Ukraine. In 2000, Petro was preceded in death by his loving wife Anna whom he will join in everlasting peace. Visitation will be at Farley Funeral Home, North Port Chapel, on Friday, October 21st from 5-8 pm with a Panachyda service at 6 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church on Saturday, October 22nd at 11 AM with burial to follow at Venice Memorial Gardens.
