Thomas Morello

Thomas Morello, 72 of Venice Florida, died July 9, 2016 at his home by suicide. Tom was born 12/11/1943 in Newark, NJ to his father Thomas and mother Beatrice. He graduated from Jersey City Sate College with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. He taught Art to many students throughout his thirty year career in education, mostly involving high school students. Aside from his lifelong passion for Art and all things artistic, he was an avid fencer and a lover of the outdoors and frequently could be found boating, fishing, hunting or target shooting with his family and many friends. He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Barbara and his son Thomas Jr., daughter in law Leigh, grand-daughter Rachel Smith, and sister Jean Rahner as well as many loving friends. He is predeceased by his son Christopher Paul, his parents Thomas and Beatrice, and his sister Madeleine. In keeping with Tom’s final wishes, there will be no formal memorial service and the internment will be private. Barbara and Tom Jr. will have a memorial gathering in remembrance of Tom’s life on August 13th in the community room of the resort center at Islandwalk at the West Villages, 6000 Corradino Blvd., Venice, Florida from 1:00PM to 5:00PM. The family requests that memorial donations be sent in Tom’s name to the American Cancer Society in honor of Tom and Barbara’s successful fight against her cancer. Tom will always be remembered for his love of family, country, heritage and his humor. Though the world is a darker place without him, our positive thoughts and loving memories of him will forever burn in our hearts to serve as guides through the darkness.
