Rebecca Jo Willard
May 17th, 1954 - January 8th, 2016
Rebecca Jo Willard, age 61, of Osprey, Florida, passed away after a brief illness on January 8, 2016. Becky was born May 17, 1954, in Saginaw, Michigan to Charles and Geri Flattery (Siler). She attended Douglas MacArthur High School and then later received an Associate’s Degree from the Saginaw Business Institute. Becky had a heart of gold and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are two sons: Kenneth Cortright and his wife, Christina, Grand Blanc, MI; Matthew Willard and his wife, Stephanie, Harrison, MI; one daughter: Charlene Whitman and her husband, Steven, Mechanicville, NY; eleven grandchildren: Keegan, Camden, and Kavin Cortright; Brandon, Jaxson, and Hunter Willard, Kylie and Dylan Miller; and Lissy and Junior Whitman, and Connor Lijewski; Becky’s mother, Geri Flattery, Osprey; one brother: Bradford, Venice; three sisters: Helen (Mike) Moskal, DesMoine, IA; Patricia (Ross) Thormeier, Saginaw, MI; Margaret (Robert) Jones, Saginaw, MI; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased in death by her father: Charles, and by her brother, Dennis. Honoring Becky’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A mass will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Osprey, at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2016. Interment will be held in the church gardens at a later date. Many thanks to the staff at Sarasota Memorial Hospital ICU 5EC for their dedicated care to Becky. Farley Funeral Home in Venice is handling the arrangements.
