Phyllis A. Purcell, age 84, of North Port, FL, died on December 31, 2015. She was born to Anthony and Statia Buduo on March 29, 1931 in Worcester, MA, and came to the North Port area in 1992 from Worcester, MA/Meredith, NH. Phyllis was a manager for the Massachusetts Department of Motor Vehicles before she retired. While living in Florida, she was active in the Wednesday Quilting Club at the Port Charlotte Cultural Center and known as the West Price Boulevard Chief Information Officer. Surviving family members include her children Thomas P. (Kathleen) of Oxford, MA, Eileen A. Shanahan (late Ronald Shanahan) of Rutland, MA, Robert A. (Roberta) of Providence, RI, and James P. (Virginia) of Mendon, MA; brothers Daniel and Harold Buduo, both of Worcester, MA; 10 grandchildren 8 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at a later date in Massachusetts. Memorial donations may be made to the San Pedro Catholic Church Respite Program.
