John A. Morse, age 83, of North Port, Florida and a former resident of Beverly, Massachusetts and East Wakefield, New Hampshire passed away on November 4, 2015 in Venice, Florida. He was born on August 6, 1932 in Tewksbury, Massachusetts and raised in Peabody. John was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean Conflict and also was a veteran of the Mass. National Guard. He worked as a tool & die maker and retired from OSRAM-GTE in 1995. Together with his wife Betty he built a summer home on a lake in New Hampshire and spent 45 summers there with family and friends. He played banjo at Snook Haven with the Gulf Coast Banjo Group for ten years and also loved classical music and reading. John was survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty and his daughter, Susan Morse and son John Morse. He also leaves behind two loving grandchildren, Noah and Zoe Lemelson; a sister, Jean of Nevada and two sister-in-laws, Judy Sarcione and Joyce Barter. A memorial service will be held at 12:00P.M. on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the Lazy River Village Clubhouse in North Port. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis National Research Foundation, 200 Oceangate, Suite 830, Long Beach, California 90802. Farley Funeral Home in North Port is handling the arrangements.
