Paul L. Newhart, 74, of Venice, Florida, formerly of Wilmington, Delaware, died Saturday, August 29, after a 16-month battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome, a bone marrow/blood disorder. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Margaret Newhart, and brother, Donald, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sandy, two sons, Paul, Jr., and Glenn (Stacey), brother Michael (Vicky) and two grandsons, Austin and Aidan. He retired from the Treasury Division of DuPont in 1993. He volunteered for civic, educational, health, religious and environmental organizations. He loved his family, reading, history, birding, photography and the outdoors. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, or perform an act of kindness in Paul's memory. Services will be private.
