Farley Funeral Homes and Crematory - Venice
Susan Williams
January 31st, 1952 - August 3rd, 2015
Susan C. Williams, age 63, died on August 3, 2015. The cause of death was complications from ocular melanoma. Susan was the daughter of the late David Anthony Williams and the late Carrie Williams of McMurray, Pennsylvania and Nokomis, Florida. Valedictorian of her class at Peters Township High School, she went on to earn her undergraduate degree at Carnegie Mellon University and a Master's from the University of Pittsburgh. She had a profound influence on many young people as an English teacher and a school counselor in the Franklin Regional School District for more than 35 years. Upon retirement, she moved to Venice, Florida. She was a world traveler, an excellent cook, and a trivia player second to none. Most of all, she will be remembered for her dedication to the students she served, her loyalty as a friend, her generosity, and her kindness. She is survived by her beloved companion of 30 years, George Steitz, the ""PT Girls,"" cousins, and many devoted friends. Deep gratitude is extended to the outstanding medical staff of Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. Susan requested contributions be made to Dr. Takami Sato's research at the Kimmel Cancer Center. Donations can be directed to http://www.kimmelcancercenter.org/kcc/kccnew/help/index.htm
