Farley Funeral Homes and Crematory - Venice
Christina Marie Doyle
May 29th, 1979 - August 3rd, 2015
Christina Doyle served 9-years with the Department as a firefighter EMT. For the past year and a half she fought hard to beat Leukemia and get back to doing what she loved. The 36-year-old passed away Monday surrounded by family and her North Port Station 84 crew in Houston Texas, where she had been undergoing advanced cancer treatment. Christina was dedicated to the City of North Port. She was a founding member of the Department's Honor Guard and Firefighters Benevolent Fund. She was instrumental in organizing the annual ""Remember the Fallen 5k Memorial Run"". North Port Fire Chief Bill Taaffe says, ""She always stepped up to help the City. We are all heartbroken by the loss. To me Christina was more like a daughter than an employee. Her infectious smile and determination will be missed by all."" Christina comes from a long line of those dedicated to the fire service, a 4th generation firefighter. Her Great-Grandfather, Grandfather and Father all served with the Boston Fire Department. Her Father Jack and Mother Patricia Doyle thank the North Port Fire Department and the rest of the community for their comments and support. Both her parents and the North Port Fire Department would like to thank the Houston Fire Department for their constant presence and support during this difficult time.
