Jane Zaccaro McAuliffe

Jane Zaccaro McAuliffe, age 80, of Venice, FL, died on July 6, 2015. She was born in Hartford, CT on July 29, 1934 to the late John and Anella Zaccaro of Windsor, CT. Jane lived in Windsor, CT for 62 years before retiring from the Greater Hartford Community College Payroll Dept., where she worked for 10 years. She loved animals, raising Shelties for a number of years in her Windsor home. Jane was active in the CT Dog Show circles and enjoyed showing the dogs in the rings in the Greater Hartford area. After retiring with her husband Dan McAuliffe for Farmington, they settled in Venice, FL where she volunteered in the Humane Society Thrift Shop and also was active in playing Mah Jong in the Venice Area. She enjoyed many trips that she and Dan took to Ireland, Canada, Hawaii, and Central and South America. Jane was an avid photographer taking many pictures of their vacation trips. She especially enjoyed the Zaccaro family reunions where she could reacquaint with all of the growing families. Jane is survived by her husband of 18 ½ years, Daniel G. McAuliffe, of Venice; step children Sheilah McConnell of CT, and Kym Gill of North Port, FL and Scott McAuliffe of CT; Her sisters Patricia Zaccaro of Englewood, FL, Joan Izzi of Plainville, CT; brother Robert Zaccaro (Joyce) of North Fort Myers; and many nieces and nephews spread throughout the country. Jane was preceded in death by her brothers Luke, Leon, Joseph and Jack, as well as her sister Marie. Her husband Dan would like to thank all the many family friends and relatives for the many comforting cards and phone calls and visits though the past three years. A memorial service will be held at Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel, on Saturday, July 11th at 10 AM. In lieu for flowers donations may be made to the Humane Society Thrift Shop, Rialto Shopping Center, 656 S Tamiami Trail, Venice, FL 34285.
