Donald James Archer of Venice, FL passed away June 9, 2015. Donald was born January 20, 1954 in Roslyn Heights, New York to George Edmund Archer and Grace Lorraine Beery. He was preceded in death by: his parents, George and Grace Archer and his brothers George and Michael Archer. Don established Olympic Pools in Venice, Florida, more than thirty years ago. He was the past president of the Florida Swimming Pools Association, a member of the Sertoma Club of Venice, and a proud supporter of Habitat of Humanity and several other local non-profit agencies. Captain Don enjoyed boating, fishing, scuba diving and flying. Don was a loving father, who adored spending time on Snake Island with his family, friends and dog, Kia. Don was in a loving relationship with Veronica Meurs. Survivors include: {sons}: Terry (wife Michele), Bryan (wife Amy), and Rick (girlfriend Kelly Pope), {granddaughter} Emily Archer, {brothers} Andy, Tom, Larry, John {sister} Debbie Archer and numerous sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. A Memorial Visitation will be held from 3-5 PM followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 5 PM, Thursday, June 18 at Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel.
