Faye Othella Rossi Wise, 91, of Venice, Florida and formerly of Ocean City, Maryland died at home on Thursday, April 9, 2015 after facing a long, difficult but courageous struggle with Parkinson's Disease. Born in Richmond, VA on November 29, 1923, Faye was the daughter of the late Palmiro Luigi Rossi and Carrie Rogers Rossi. She was raised in Mt. Airy, North Carolina and later in Washington, D.C. where she graduated from St. Cecilia's High School. After attending Strayer Business College in Washington, D.C., Mrs. Wise joined the U.S. Marine Corps where she served as a Sergeant during World War II. Faye had many talents and taught adult education classes in Millinery, Arts and Crafts and Cooking for 25 years in both Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD and taught privately in her home and for other organizations as well. She mainly enjoyed making wedding veils and decorative eggs. Faye loved volunteering, dancing, hosting parties, traveling, gardening, cooking and crafting and she cherished times with family and friends. She will be remembered for her generosity and her selfless acts of giving to others. Faye was always very active in her communities and churches. She and husband were involved with many clubs and organizations. She continued to be involved well into her 80's volunteering at the Italian-American Club in Venice, FL and teaching Arts and Crafts to many residents of Venice, FL. including staff and residents of Bella Vita and Harbor Inn. At her death, Faye was re-joined with the love of her life, her dance partner and husband of nearly 52 years, Charles Edward, ""Buck"" Wise. She was also preceded in death by her son, Charles Edward, ""Charlie/Chip"" Wise, her grandson, Robert Dale, ""Bobby"" Wise as well as her sisters, Ann Inez Garton, Laura Helie and Lena Haubrich. She is survived by her son, William Robert, ""Bill"" Wise and his wife, Theresa of Silver Spring, MD; four daughters, Patricia Ann, ""Patti"" Wise and her husband, Patrick Lam of Ocean City, MD; Margaret Allison, ""Peggy"" Shroyer and her husband John of Venice, FL; Silvia DeGonzalez and Miriam Buitrago both of La Libertad, El Salvador and two brothers, Ronald Palmiro Rossi of Front Royal, VA and Charles Aloysius Rossi of Venice FL. Faye also leaves behind eight grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, adopted family members, neighbors and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, May 1 at 10:30 AM at St. Bernardine of Siena Parish in Suitland, MD where friends may call from 10-10:30 at the church. Interment will follow the service at 12 noon at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suitland, MD followed by a reception at Knights of Columbus Hall in Forestville, MD. Father Francisco Tovor will preside at the funeral and burial. In addition, a Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, May 15 at 10:30 AM at Epiphany Cathedral with a luncheon following at the American Legion Hall in Venice, FL.
