Joan DeGordon Stark, 64, of Venice, FL passed away April 2, 2015 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Joan was born September 12, 1950 to the late Margaret May (Martin) and Charles C. DeGordon. She was a fantastic cook and baker who particularly enjoyed the ocean and the sun. Joan was always there to lend a hand and help anyone in need. She loved her family and was especially fond of her mini dachshund, Bob. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry DeGordon and sister, Kathy Saunders. Survivors include her beloved husband of 43 years, Ted Stark; two sons: Sam (Kim) Stark of Dublin, OH and Gregg (Adrienne) Stark of Westlake, OH; two grandsons: Grayson and Gavin; brother, Fred DeGordon and sister-in-law, Judi DeGordon Matie, both of Massillon, OH. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3 PM, Friday, April 10 at Venice Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to TideWell Hospice, 5955 Rand Boulevard, Sarasota, FL 34238 and/or Venice Presbyterian Church, 825 The Rialto, Venice, FL 34285.
