Farley Funeral Homes and Crematory - Venice
James D. Miller
December 4th, 1948 - March 25th, 2015
Miller, James Daniel ""Jim"" Jim Miller, 66, of Venice, FL, formerly of Cincinnati, OH, lost his courageous battle with ALS on March 25. Jim was born in Alliance, OH to Rosemary (Scanlon) and James D. Miller. He received a Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Cincinnati, and had a challenging and rewarding 32 year career with Procter & Gamble as a research scientist. Those who knew Jim loved his sense of adventure, willingness to take on a challenge, his steadiness, and ability to problem solve by always looking at the data. His children knew him as a loving and patient father who always took pride in sharing his knowledge and experience of life skills. Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Pam; his daughter Lisa Beckman (husband, Trenton) of Phoenix, AZ; son Jay Miller (wife, Lindsey) of Boston, MA; and grandchildren Autumn and Hayden Beckman. A Celebration of Life ceremony was held with family and friends. Memorial donations can be made to the ALS Association (www.alsa.org). To share a memory, visit www.farleyfuneralhome.com.
