Barbara Anne Melvin
March 8th, 1930 - February 24th, 2015
Barbara Anne (Shirk) Melvin went home to be with the Lord on February 24, 2015. She was 84. Barbara was born on March 8, 1930 in Cambridge, OH to her parents John William Cline and Mary Josephine Cline. She later moved to Columbus, OH and married Richard Shirk. There were three children of that marriage: daughter Cynthia (Cindy), Richard (Timothy) and David. In 1979, Barbara married Robert (Bob) Melvin. After residing for many years in Columbus, Ohio, Barbara and Bob moved to North Port, Florida. Barbara is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Oscar Carsey of Venice, Florida (her son, Timothy Shirk of Hawaii; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Melvin and her son, David Shirk. Visitation will take place on Monday, March 2nd from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm at Farley Funeral Home in North Port. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Barbara's life.
