Farley Funeral Homes and Crematory - Venice
Elizabeth Vincze
May 18th, 1921 - February 20th, 2015
Elizabeth Vincze of Venice, Florida, formerly of Wakefield, Rhode Island and Fairfield, Connecticut, passed away on February 20, 2015. She was the wife of previously deceased Louis Vincze. Born in a rural village in Slovakia on May 18, 1921, she immigrated to the United States in 1939, became an American citizen, married, and raised three children, Elizabeth Baker, John Vincze, and Robert Vincze. Her grandchildren are Jeremy Boerner, Allison Reynolds, Ethan Vincze, and Nelsie Nelson. Known as ""Betty"" to her friends, she lived her life with an evangelical zeal as a living witness to God's love. She fed the hungry, attended the sick and frail, gave shelter to the refugee, and moral and spiritual support to all. Her life was the telling of the story of the American Dream. She came to America a lonely immigrant teenager, worked, married, raised a family, attended church, and through daily meditations of sacrifice, hard work, and prayer served her God, her family, her community, and her country. She loved a good story and it was through stories that she taught her life's lessons to all who graced her table and her home. She will be so very much missed. A funeral service will be held at Farley Funeral Home, Venice on Friday, Feb. 27th at 11:00 AM. She will be buried next to her husband in the Rhode Island Veteran Memorial Cemetery in Exeter, Rhode Island. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the American Red Cross.
