Ronald D. Herman, Sr., 78, of Venice, FL passed away January 8, 2015. Ron was born May 6, 1936 in Saginaw, MI to Esther (Frank) and Jerome Herman. Ron enjoyed spending time with family and friends and also with Marilyn at their second home in Frankenmuth, Michigan. He was the owner of Herman's Meats in Venice. Ron was on the Board of the Nokomis Fire Department for 11 years and Board of Elders at Lakeside Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his brother, Roger. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Marilyn; sons: Ron, Jr. of Atlanta, GA and Scott of Sarasota, FL; daughters: Lynn of Saginaw, MI, Lori of Atlanta, GA, Lisa of Frankenmuth, MI, Libby of Farwell, MI, Suzanne of Mason, MI, Bonnie of Rochester, MI, Heather of Venice, FL; brothers: Rene and Fredrick, both of Venice, FL; sister, Ruth Ann of Rockwell, TX; brother-in-law, George Anscomb of Frankenmuth. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM with Funeral Service at 11 AM, Thursday, January 15 at Lakeside Lutheran Church with inurnment at the church garden at a later date. Memorial Donations may be made to Lakeside Lutheran Church Elderly Assistance Fund, 2401 South Tamiami Trail, Venice, FL 34293.
