Katherine ""Kay"" Metrione, 90, of North Port, FL passed away on Dec. 1, 2014. She was born on July 12, 1924 in N.J. & moved to North Port in 1972. Kay was the owner of ""Kay's Place"" deli & worked in both the Venice & North Port schools. Kay was an early member of various organizations in our community. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael Metrione in 2006. Kay will be missed but not forgotten by her 2 daughters: Lois Kozak of No. Port & Janet Blasi of N.J., 2 sons: Henry Jakimer of No. Port & Nicholas Jakimer of Pt. Charlotte, 5 grandchildren, 2 nephews & her much loved dog ""Daisy"". Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Friday, Dec. 5 at Farley Funeral Home, North Port Chapel. A Mass will be held at 12 Noon, Sat., Dec. 6 at San Pedro Catholic Church with burial immediately following at Venice Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, Memorial Department, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
